Pre-Vocational Training
Our gardening class for Elementary & Middle School students is one example of how we teach many new skills.
The Community School has a functioning year-round garden where the kids get their hands dirty while learning how seeds become delicious fruits and vegetables. From planting to harvesting, students participate in the entire process. They learn the parts, the life cycle, the growing seasons of plants, and so much more.
Some of the skills and concepts students learn out in the garden include:
Sequencing
Gross Motor Skills
Fine Motor Skills
Teamwork
Responsibility
The Seasons
The Growth Cycle
The Environment
Our Food
